Caleb and Joshua were discussing the fact that we have an alarm on the house. Caleb came to me and said that robbers didn't need alarm clocks (meaning house alarms). I asked him why, and he said that if it was another robber that they could just be friends.

Just checking in

It's been a while since I've had a chance to post. All is well here. Jean finished her last chemo treatment this week. Now she has to wait until September 11 to get her tests done in Houston to find out how well the chemo worked. She is doing great, mostly just tired. She started back to school a few weeks ago, so that is wearing on her also. Her hair is growing back, and she is starting to go more without her wig or just a ball cap. Here is a picture of her walking in the Relay for Life last night. Her school teacher friends got together a team in her honor.The Relay for Life is a big deal here! The boys got to go down the inflatable slide and into the fire truck and the fire house simulator. Mom's square dance group came out for entertainment too. Here she is... "hi, mom!" Luke had his 15 months checkup. He is 22 lbs, and he eats more that Joshua and Caleb. I keep telling them that Luke is going to catch up soon. He is toddling around, taking about 5 or 6 steps by himself. He loves to play in the toilet, ugh! Joshua starts soccer in a few weeks. After soccer camp, he feels quite sure of his abilities! Caleb is still Caleb. He amazes me at how verbal he is. I am anxious to see how well he adapts to his preschool. He starts in a couple of weeks. It is a school at the local high school. They have students run the program. A friend of mine is the teacher/coordinator. She says that she picks the cream of the crop for the program, mostly students who love to work with children or who want to be teachers when they grow up. So, the students spend the first month of school getting ready for the program, that is why they have a late start date.

I have joined a MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers). It is new for our area. Luke will go with me to the MOPPETS program, Caleb will be in preschool, and Joshua will go to Mimi's or he may go with me if they have enough homeschooling moms interested and can start a homeschooled kids meeting. We'll meet two Fridays a month, and I've agreed to be a table leader. So, I'll have 8 moms that sit at my table and I get to make sure everyone is greeted and checked on if they're absent and try to guide the discussions and keep them on track.
Luke was very intent on the square dancing. The boys loved the slides. Tomorrow, we are going to a birthday party at a inflatable party place. They'll love that, and hopefully sleep well afterwards!

We were at the pool the other day. Caleb was playing with the gate, and twice I told him to stop. The third time, I said, "Caleb James come here." He dropped his hands and his head and started heading towards me. Under his breath I heard him say, "uh oh, that means I'm in big trouble."

OREO Cakesters

So, if you haven't heard yet, OREO has put out a new product. They are chocolate cakes with white or chocolate cream sandwiched in between. They are fabulous, just don't look at the calories or fat content. Here is Luke enjoying a taste of one. I may have to hide them from the boys!

Cousins Everywhere

We took a trip Friday to visit the new nieces and got pictures of all the cousins on both sides. It was a long day, but it was so much fun! It was only about 45 minutes from Chet/Amanda's to Danny/Kim's. We had lunch with one and dinner with the other. Here are pictures:

Another Niece Arrives!

Friday morning, Mom headed home from Danny and Kim's for a Dr. appt., since baby Jenna had not yet arrived. Friday evening, Mom called and said that Kim was headed to the hospital with pains. Since Mom doesn't drive at night, she asked me to take her down. We headed south about 10 pm and got the call about an hour later that Kim was being sent home with "false labor". So, Mom and I took a late night tour of GT (we had to turn around somewhere!), Phi Sig was having a party, but everything else looked calm. :) We drove across the 5th street bridge, and she was amazed at the new bookstore. Anyway, we got back to her house about 12:30 am, and I decided to sleep there so I wouldn't wake my boys at home. At 3:53 am, Mom came in my room and said, "we have to go, Kim is back at the hospital, dilated to 3, and they are keeping her." So, at 4:30 am we headed back south. Got there in time to see Kim in quite a bit of pain, (brings back memories!) but she was able to get her epidural and actually slept for a little while. Baby Jenna was born at 1:39 pm, and I was so excited to get to hold her! She has a head full of black hair and weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz.

You would think we never feed the kid! He got a chickfila wrapper out of the garbage and pulled out the bun and started eating (we had just a bun, because that's what Caleb wanted and didn't eat).
