The End of an Era

Our sweet Charlie of 13 years passed away this weekend.  It's hard to believe that Matt and I got him from the Humane Society just a few weeks after we were married.  He has been through two moves, outlived 5 other dogs, and welcomed 4 new (human) babies to our household.  He took it all in stride, and he was so gentle with the kids.

We lost Charlie, but in just a matter of weeks, we have added two new fur babies to our household.  We were headed to swim lessons a few weeks ago, and a stray puppy was right in the middle of the road in front of us.

Just like that we had a new dog.

Introducing...Sideways.

Then, last weekend a sweet little kitten somehow got into our garage.  Matt heard the kitten Sunday night, and he tried to find it.  Monday morning, he called me and asked me to look for the kitten in the garage.  I couldn't find it, so we thought she had gotten away.  As Matt walked to his car after work, he heard the familiar meow.  He lifted the hood, and there was the kitten.  She must have stowed away in the engine, ridden to work, and stayed there all day.

Just like that, we had a new kitten.

Introducing...Miracle.

Since the kitten is still so little, we are keeping her in the house.   We are letting Sideways and Miracle get to know each other a little at a time.  Our hope is that Sideways will accept Miracle and that she will be able to be an outside cat.
