Joshua Learns to Ride a Bike!

I'm so excited. After running up and down the driveway following Joshua as he tried to ride his bike without training wheels, he finally got the hang of it. He has been riding down the driveway, coasting without pedaling, for a few days. Yesterday, he figured out how to start by himself on level ground. Matt got to see it too since he had just gotten home from work. Yippee! Another milestone reached, my boys are growing up!

Happy Easter!

We had a lot of fun this week!
I started the week off by taking Joshua and Caleb to see Seussical and to the Gold Mine Museum in Dahlonega. Joshua and Matt had play practice, and Joshua had soccer practice and a game this week. Matt had Friday off, so we celebrated my birthday by working in the basement putting up the drop ceiling. Mom came over for lunch and brought me a birthday cake. Joshua helped decorate it with Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It was a great day spent at home! Saturday, we took the boys to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. They loved seeing the horses and jousting and of course, eating with their fingers (no silverware in the castle)! Sunday, we enjoyed our church service and ate too much lunch! Then, we had an Easter egg hunt with Chris' children. The sun was in the kids' eyes, so it was hard to get a good picture. Plus, I just realized that I have Matt's old farm truck in the background...I really need to be more diligent about the surroundings, ha!
The ceiling is almost done in the basement, so tonight we bought the flooring. I don't know when we'll have time to put it down, but we don't have a due date, so we'll just work on it when we can. I hope everyone had a great Easter celebration! Joshua's 7th birthday is this week, and we're celebrating with a Transformers party this weekend.

The World According To Caleb

As we get closer to the Easter weekend, we were studying Jesus' final entrance to Bethlehem in Sunday School. Jesus was riding on a donkey, the crowd was waving palm leaves and throwing their coats in the path. I was explaining the scene and said that the people were shouting...Caleb interrupted me and said "I know, they were shouting 'Jose'!" I kept a straight face and said, "well, almost, they were saying 'Hosana'."

Today, I told Caleb to pick up the toys he dumped out of the bucket. It went like this...
Caleb: But, I need hellllpppp.
Me: But, you didn't need help dumping them out.
Caleb: But, that was easy.

A Rough and Tumble Week

Joshua and I started out the week trying to get rid of our colds. I think we went through 2 boxes of tissues. By Wednesday, Caleb complained that he wasn't feeling well. He complains often and loudly, so I wasn't sure if it was the real thing or sympathy pains. At 3:30 in the morning with 103 degree fever, I decided it must be the real thing. We started Motrin, and by morning he seemed a little better. It spiked again about 9:30, amazing how Motrin wears off in 6 hours, huh? Called the Dr. and got an appt. It was strep throat, and it was the 7th case of the day (before lunch). I mentioned to the Dr. that Luke had been caught drinking out of Caleb's cup just that morning (he's a sneaky little thing), so Dr. gave antibiotics to Luke also. By Friday, Caleb was ready to go again, it's also amazing what 24 hrs of antibiotics will do for you! Friday, Matt stayed home from work with the beginning of a cold. Saturday, we worked in the basement. Early in the day, Luke slipped on the steps and busted his lip. Later, he decided to go upstairs by himself (which he was getting pretty good at doing and coming back down too), but somehow, he fell and bumped all the way back down. I just thought for sure we were headed to the ER. He did get a big knot on his head with a bruise, but he was running around giggling just minutes after it happened. Sunday, he got into his brother's markers, so here he is busted up and painted... Did I also mention that he got diaper rash from the antibiotics?

We are hoping for less drama this week around the house!
