Playing catch up!

It's been another busy month for us.  Matt is building a group to start a troop in the new Trail Life USA program.  They went hiking on the Appalachian Trail for 14 miles.  I was worried about how Caleb would manage, but he did great!  Joshua and Caleb are both enjoying this time with Matt and the other Trailmen.

 

Another year older, Matt left the 30s this year.  We celebrated with dinner and cake with our family and Matt's Dad and Grandmother.  We are blessed to have them live close to celebrate special occasions with us.

 

 

I was given free tickets to the Children's Museum of Atlanta to write a review for trekaroo.com, so we made a trip to Atlanta.  I took the kids while Matt stayed home and rested from a long week and a cold.  We had a great time, and I was so thankful that Joshua was with me to help with the littles.  Thomas took off in one direction, and Anna went the other!  It isn't a very big place, but I couldn't have kept up with both of them.  Caleb and Luke were able to explore on their own.  I would love to have also ridden on the big new Ferris Wheel in Centennial Olympic Park, but I didn't want to push my luck with nap time sneaking up on me.  

Home 2 years!

I can hardly believe that we've been home for 2 years with Anna.  She has grown so much physically and emotionally.  It has not been easy, but we have finally reached a sort of normalcy.  Her language continues to improve.  She still sees the speech therapist at preschool.  She loves preschool.  Her articulation still needs the most help, but her vocabulary is expanding.  This has helped the frustration level on both our parts.  It makes for a much easier day.  She sleeps through the night and is potty trained!  She loves to dance and can operate the ipad like a pro.  She loves to sing and usually wants me to sing along.  Her favorite songs are ABC, Jesus Loves Me, the Wiggle Worm, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  She loves to watch Dragon Tales, Garfield, Lilo and Stitch, Barney, and of course Mickey Mouse on Netflix. Anna still loves to eat, mostly grazing through the day.  She loves eggs, ramen noodles, pizza, and fruit.  She has a sweet tooth for candy too.  It has been quite an adventure, but we are so blessed to have this little princess in our lives!

A day out in Atlanta

The big boys and I enjoyed a day out. We shopped at Ikea, ate lunch at the Varsity, and visited Stone Mountain. We had a great day together while Daddy got to hang out with the younger kids.

Trick or treat

The kids got a load of candy this year. Thomas was so sweet about letting me go through his candy and pull the peanut and egg candy. He has always been such a trooper about his allergies. Anna loved her Minnie Mouse costume, but she does not like to smile on demand. She has become such a happy little girl. It's hard to show though.

North Ga Zoo

Our homeschool group visited North Ga Zoo. We walked through the petting zoo, fed the animals, and went on a hay ride. The weather was beautiful, and the kids enjoyed a day out! They had the most fun in the human cage.
