Matt had his annual trip to St. Simon's for his engineering conference. This year, the conference moved to King & Prince resort instead of Sea Palms. It was a beautiful oceanfront property. We spend time exploring at Fort King George, swimming in the heated pool, and digging in the sand. Unfortunately, Caleb got car sick on the way down, and he still didn't feel well the next day. We only had 1 1/2 days at St. Simon's, so it was a bit of a downer. After Matt got off work, he stayed at the room with sleeping kids, and Joshua and I went to the pier to walk around a bit. We saw a large horseshoe crab that some fishermen had pulled in, and we saw over a dozen jellyfish swimming in the water around the pier. There were many jellyfish washed up on the beach as well at the hotel. We walked down the beach quite a way and found some rocks that housed many crabs in conch shells. The boys picked out 45 shells to observe and then put them back on the rocks.
On the way home, we spent the night at Chet and Amanda's. The kids all camped out in the living room. The next day, Chet and Matt took all the kids except Elizabeth and Anna kayaking down the Flint River.
