Matt had a convention in Orlando last week. We had been planning a trip to Orlando in May, but we decided to go with Matt instead. It saved us some money that we can put towards our China trip. We had beautiful weather for most of the week. We got to stay at our timeshare resort (they call it vacation ownership, nowadays). The boys got to swim a couple of days. The resort had a pirate themed pool with a slide that the boys liked. There was also a lazy river and of course, the hot tubs. We played putt-putt one day, and Luke showed what kind of golfer he'll be...the kind that throws his club and his ball. Just because Joshua said that he didn't know how to play. Temper, temper. I really thought this would be a good time to go, but I think we hit some of the spring break crowd. There were more people out and about in Orlando than I had expected. Mid-February is still my favorite time. I was anxious to see what beginning of May would be like, but I guess we'll have to find out later. 
We went to Epcot on Monday. We were able to do parent swap for most of the rides that Thomas couldn't ride. The parent swap allowed two other people to ride with the swapping parent, so we had to mix it up as to who got to ride again. If we had fast passes, there wasn't a problem, because the extra fast pass would allow the extra kid to ride again (5 fast passes...Matt rides with J, C, L and we get a parent swap. Then, Debbie rides with J and C on the parent swap, but we have the 5th fast pass that L got to use to ride again.) Does that make any sense? I forget how big Epcot is and that it is a lot of walking for little legs. We ended up carrying Thomas so Luke could ride in the stroller. Caleb even wanted a piggy back ride for part of the day. We got to ride all the big rides and walk around all the nations, so I think it was pretty successful, even if it was a pretty crowded day.
Matt had to work on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. I took the boys to Magic Kingdom on Wed. It ended up being a great day for us. I was quite unsure what to expect taking four kids to MK by myself. I have to say that they did great for me. Thomas spent a good part of the day in the Ergo. That way I could get in and out of the rides pretty quickly. Luke rode with me for most of the rides, and Joshua and Caleb rode together. Of course, we weren't able to do Space or Thunder Mountain, but there are so many little kid friendly rides that we were able to fill our day.
We tried Animal Kingdom on Friday as a family. Thomas got sick on the Safari Ride, so Matt took him back to the room and left me with Joshua, Caleb, and Luke. We enjoyed the rest of the day and "hopped" over to Hollywood Studios to ride the Tower of Terror and the new Toy Story Mania. Then, we "hopped" over to the Magic Kingdom to watch the Electrical Parade and fireworks. When that was over, we got on a ferry boat headed to the Wilderness Lodge, and I called Matt to come pick us up there. He had to explain to the guard that his wife and 3 kids were waiting for him there, and "no, she did not get lost". The guard was nice enough to believe him and let him in to pick us up. I had not thought about the guard, I was just looking for a quick way out of the chaos at the monorail terminal. Matt was such a trooper for letting us finish out the day and coming to pick us up.
Thomas was nice enough to share his little bug with Matt and then I got it. At least it was all different days, and we have finally gotten over it. The trip was a whirlwind, but we enjoyed the time away. Luke is already asking to go back to there. He loves the resort. I'm thinking unless we have another Orlando convention, it's going to be a few years.
