Minnie Mouse swimsuit

We were getting ready to swim today, and I told A to get her swimsuit. She told me "min mou" which is Minnie Mouse. I told her that she doesn't have a Minnie Mouse swimsuit. She said "ye ya ooh" which is yes, I do. I asked where, and she strutted over to my closet and pointed in there. I had forgotten that I had bought a Minnie Mouse suit on clearance last year. Someone has been plundering in my gift closet. So yes, she got to wear her Minnie Mouse swimsuit.

Homemade play-dough

Trying out a recipe that we got from church literature. The kids loved it.

31 years of boys and first stitches

I figure if I add up all my boys ages, I get 31 years of being a mom of boys. Wow! But, this summer has given me two firsts that I thought I would have experienced prior to this. First, C's broken arm and now, T has stitches.

T, aka Cookie Monster, was climbing on a box when it tipped over, and his chin met the counter. The bleeding stopped quickly, but the gash was enough that a trip to the ER was in order. He was awesome, and the staff was great with him. We managed through 5 stitches without screaming, fighting, or restraints.

I always told people C would be the first son to the ER, and he was, years ago. But, he was happy to point out that he was not the first for stitches.

Carowinds

A few weekends ago, J and I went to Carowinds. J had bought two tickets to Rock the Park with his birthday money. He wanted to see Skillet, luckily Tenth Avenue North and Audio Adrenaline were also playing, and I wanted to see them. We packed up and camped at the Carowinds campground so we would be close to the park. We were able to ride the shuttle to the park, and we rode all day long until the concert. I guess I'm getting old, but I forgot how loud concerts are! It was a great trip for us, and a much needed break for me.

J knows how to pick them!

Beautiful hydrangeas from our yard.

Cow Appreciation Day

We have been busy with the Latvian chaperone who is staying with us, but I wanted to send over a couple of pics from the iPod. We enjoyed free meals from Chick-fil-a. Even Raita dressed up with us though she probably didn't understand why we dressed up as cows to eat chicken.
