My little helpers

We finally opened the boxes of books that I have for Joshua's school work and decided to put together the little bookshelf that will hold them all. All three boys decided to pitch in and "help" me. Between Caleb pounding dents in the side of the shelf and Luke trying to eat the nails and Joshua telling everyone how to do it, we manged to get the shelf put together and all the books set up. Here is the scene...We also went to the carnival at library for the summer reading program. The boys got a big bag full of loot since they got a prize at each game station. Here they are doing the egg toss. They also tried the three legged race, which started out just fine, but Joshua ended up dragging Caleb down the course trying to "win."We went to the local annual concert and fireworks Friday night. The rain cleared just in time for the concert, and we enjoyed just hanging out and visiting with people, ah, one of the benefits of a small town. :-) We also did quite a bit of teenage people watching. It's so funny to see how they dress, interact, and try to impress each other. It takes me back to the Street Dance in Vidalia that happens each year with the Onion Festival. Several kids stopped by to say hi to Jean (since she has taught for many years), and then when they left, she'd give us the scoop on them. It was interesting to get her take on them. Luke didn't like the big boom from the fireworks at first, but he liked the lights.

We have a busy week ahead. Joshua and Caleb have swim lessons and a visit to the dentist (praying for no cavities!). We also have Jean's birthday on the 4th with picnics and fireworks!
