Consumer Research

So, in my life as a stay at home mom, I have been pursuing a new career in saving money, or in business terms, cost avoidance. I joined a website called Refund Cents. I have started couponing and refunding. I have also started doing online surveys and consumer research. So far, I have recieved a big box of food from General Mills and two full size bottles of Pantene shampoo and conditioner. But the funniest thing that has happened so far arrived yesterday. Last week, I did a survey for toilet paper, and at the end of the survey, they asked if I would be willing to try the product and provide feedback. Yesterday, Matt was home and we were all outside enjoying the afternoon. The UPS man pulls up with a box for me. I opened it and found four rolls of TP. The instructions say to set aside our current TP and begin using the samples immediately. After two weeks, they will send me a survey. How funny, I can't wait to see what the questions are...

It has been a busy week for us. Jean and I flew to Houston on Sunday. We managed to avoid the traffic at Reliant Stadium during the NFL game. She had appointments on Monday and Tuesday. Mostly positive feedback...she begins radiation on Tuesday for 5 weeks M-F. They will be doing radiation twice a day for 22 or 25 days. Her doctor said that they may also give her a follow up chemo pill to take after radiation. Whatever it takes to get rid of that stuff!

A few highlights of the past two weeks. Caleb fell asleep on the tractor with Papa.

Pictures from the preschool field trip to the Jaemor Farm - apple orchard and pumpkin patch. We took a hay ride and ran around in the mini corn maze. The kids got to pick out a pumpkin they could carry. Joshua warms up for his soccer game.

Last, but not least, Luke got his first hair cut this weekend. He doesn't have enough hair to cut in the front, but the back was getting a little shaggy. I had Jean taking pictures for me. Somehow, the camera got switched from photo to movie mode. So, a little bonus is the end of the hair cut when we are trying to keep him still to finish up! Enjoy.
